However it is super important to tackle this project at least twice a year to keep your gutters and downspouts flowing freely. Even if you aren’t experiencing overflowing or flooding, decaying leaves and debris can be a breeding ground for carpenter ants and mosquitos.

There’s something to be said about how lighting can change the look and feel of a room. This can be especially true in a bathroom. Many homeowners can become tired of their bathrooms and feel they need an expensive remodel to shake things up. But before you hit your bank account for a renovation consider installing new lighting. When most people think of renovating or updating their bathroom they usually think about faucets, lighting and new paint. But shower curtains are often overlooked feature in most baths. When we first moved into our home Sarah and I only had a small high top style table that we had moved over from our apartment. Now that we have a bit more space to work with we thought it might look better to have a more traditional dinner table that would also help fill the space out a bit more. Not to mention we had plans of using the old high top in our basement for a later project. The only problem is that (and I’m sure many of you can relate) - there were a TON of other projects that were a higher priority on our list. We didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg on a new table and since we had a few projects in the works in the garage we decided to refurbish an old table that we had found at a local consignment shop. It was quite dated looking with yellow oak and off white legs, but was still in good condition.
