Summer Home Improvement Checklist

Summer is coming to an end, but don’t worry there is still time to check those items off your home improvement To-Do list!  Take advantage of the long days and extra sunlight to make those outdoor projects just a little easier. Whether your painting your home’s exterior, getting ahead on some landscaping or installing new windows…summer is the time to get out there and put some checkmarks on that home to-do list! Here’s a list of summer projects to add to your summer to-do list…

6 Ways to Make Your Home Look Bigger

After years of college living and small apartments my wife and I have gotten pretty good at making our spaces seem larger than they actually are. Chances are you too have felt the need to open up a space or just make your room more in your home or apartment. Here are a few tips for making your home look larger…

Old Table, New Life

When we first moved into our home Sarah and I only had a small high top style table that we had moved over from our apartment. Now that we have a bit more space to work with we thought it might look better to have a more traditional dinner table that would also help fill the space out a bit more. Not to mention we had plans of using the old high top in our basement for a later project. The only problem is that (and I’m sure many of you can relate) - there were a TON of other projects that were a higher priority on our list. We didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg on a new table and since we had a few projects in the works in the garage we decided to refurbish an old table that we had found at a local consignment shop. It was quite dated looking with yellow oak and off white legs, but was still in good condition.

How to Install New Door Handles

Moving to a new home my wife and I knew there would be a few projects we would need to tackle. The first being door knobs. While the builder had installed door handles for each door, the finish was not what we had in mind. Not to mention a few of the handles were backwards or on the door the wrong way entirely…rolls eyes. Whether replacing dated hardware or just looking for a change, installing or switching up door handles can really give your door and space a great updated feel.

Painting Kitchen Cabinets: Adding Value to Your Kitchen

Having new cabinetry installed is certainly an expensive undertaking most of the time. But sometimes all those old cabinets need is a change of hardware and a fresh coat of paint to bring them back to life. Many wood, laminate or even metal cabinets are great candidates for a coat of paint if prepped correctly.

Cabinet Hardware: The Finishing Touch

So you’ve just installed, updated or painted your cabinets…hardware is typically the next step for most people and can really bring together a room. Even though this is the last stage of a redesign or installation it is often very important to the overall theme or décor of the room.

Food for Thought: Your Next Kitchen Renovation

Kitchens are no longer a single use space in your home, but now serve to entertain guest, spend time with family, and of course… cook. It is no wonder why kitchen remodels are so popular among home owners. With some many options in faucet to cabinet selection to lighting and flooring it can be overwhelming for sure. Here are a few parts of your kitchen you should consider during your next renovation.
